Our Technical Sparring session follows the same safety rules and permission requirements as our Saturday Sparring class. Only adults and older children who have been specifically approved by coaches may take part. Youth participants must have clear permission for either head‑contact sparring or body‑only sparring, and it is the adult’s responsibility to ensure coaches are fully aware of their child’s permission level before training begins.
Unlike Saturday Sparring, this session is light, controlled and highly technical. The focus is on timing, movement, distance, defence and clean technique — not power. Rounds are slower, more thoughtful and designed to help students sharpen their skills without heavy contact.
Coaches monitor every round closely, and anyone sparring outside of their permission level or using excessive power will be stopped immediately. Safety, control and respect remain the priority at all times.
Technical Sparring is ideal for beginners learning how to move safely, as well as experienced students wanting to refine their striking without the intensity of full sparring.
